Overview

The global crisis the world is facing is stress. 

Stress is the World’s leading cause of disability (WHO, 2022) creating increases in Absenteeism, Presenteeism and Burnout in the workplace costing the global economy $1.47 Tr annually in productivity losses.

Each year globally the productivity losses are:

  • $ 1 trillion USD in absenteeism
  • $150 billion USD in presenteeism
  • $322 billion USD in burnout

Stress can negatively impact people’s health, relationships and careers. lives, families, and businesses. 90% of employees have said struggling from stress, anxiety or mild depression stops them from thriving at home and work.

With additional challenges of the last few years, many people are feeling exhausted, depleted, on the verge of burnout, or neglecting their health and wellbeing as there always seem to be other struggling priorities. However, it doesn’t need to be that way.

There are also big issues in Web 2.0 such as:

1. Privacy & Trust

Due to the personal nature of wellbeing data, security and privacy are critical. Our internal survey shows privacy as a top concern for our users. Web 2.0 data resides in centralised storage, vulnerable to criminals and fraudulent behaviours. Moreover, centralised businesses harvest our data to manipulate and monetise without our permission. Our lives are increasingly digital and we have matured to a point where the debate over privacy and trust has come to the forefront of mainstream society. Digital natives are actively seeking alternatives TODAY.

2. Ownership

Web 2.0 businesses control and often own the content created by their users including personal data such as profiles, personal images and content. Data silos create an uncompetitive environment that limits the value delivered to creators and consumers alike.

3. Security & Control

Centralised databases are more vulnerable to bad actors and fraudulent behaviour. Creators and businesses are awakening to the limitations of web2 and how have little or no say in the control of the value and the livelihood they built online.
