Our project is lifetime dream for me and my sister from as far as we can remember. We like to be around people and that’s how the idea of owning own Event and Wedding Planning business with Sisters Cafe has grown till this day. Combining two services together has been our dream. To give customers refreshing option, the Sisters Café. One side of the building we going to have office and meeting room for Wedding and Event Planning and other side is going to be Café with seating area. In our heads it is pretty good idea and looks good on a floor plan too. We are very excited about this business idea. This business idea is our dream come true but we also want to help other women to get confident in hospitality and get work experience back after being long time away from work force e.g. homemaker. We trying to raise funds to make this happen soon if possible, starting end of this year or next year. We don’t have enough funding to start our dream to happen. This funding goes towards the starting the project from scratch e.g. renting the place, licences, building the kitchen for our needs (if there isn’t already) and interior and lots of more.

We didn’t have this kind of opportunity when we graduated from University 2010. We applied several cafes and customers service positions but not having any luck to get them as employers were only looking people with experienced in hospitality. But then there is question how you can get experience if you are not hired. We want to change this rabbit wheel. Giving the opportunity to graduate who has difficult get the work experience like we had. We are going to make it happen little by little if we are not getting help. That’s why this crowdfunding is perfect for us to show our idea and our passion. We have been thinking almost everything already e.g.  interior, logos and even the staff outfit, that excited we are about this. How to make it happen if we are lucky enough to get people to fund our cause, we going to start looking perfect place to rent and good location in our city at Gold Coast.

Now, little bit about us and who we are. We are 2 sisters from Finland, born in Bangladesh and lived our whole life in Finland. In Finland we both had been working years at Food Processing factory which is Finland biggest employer. Meanwhile working in this factory we also studied a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Management. We liked our worked at the factory but we felt that we have to do something own one day and achieving something like that we can be proud of.

Introducing Meri, after met, got married and having 2 daughters here in Australia I have been personally out of work life now 4+ years. Being a mum now has let me thinking more what to give to my daughters when they are older. This idea of being business owner and running own business on day came more clear to us when I was expecting my first daughter and knowing that my sister wanted to something own too. I studied online certificate as a Wedding Planner 2019-2020 to start achieve my goals.

Introducing Mari, after traveling around New Zealand 2015 ended up in Australia in January 2016 and since then has been in Gold Coast.  Since coming to Australia I have dream to start business with my sister where we can work together as a family. I also have a Diploma as Event management at TAFE Queensland 2019, when studying Event Management it gave me hand on experience who to run any kind of event, as I was part of organizing two own events at TAFE Queensland Hair, Beauty and Barber Hairshow and Music festival to TAFE Coomera students to showcase their music, between the studies working in two local restaurants, Kampung Malay and Omeros Brothers Seafood Restaurant at Gold Coast.
