OUR MISSION AND VISION

At Ease AU was founded in 2021 by Kyla Diego in Melbourne, Australia. An engineering student at RMIT University and works part-time in a construction company. Whilst trying to cope with her overwhelming schedule, it is essential for her to take a break and form a self-care routine to attain her goals and dreams. Unfortunately, many women over-idolise the hustle culture causing them to neglect their well-being and self-worth.

At Ease AU aims to guide women back to wellness and self-confidence while becoming the best version of themselves through products ranging from beneficial teas to jigsaw puzzles and cozy Loungewear.

While we are passionate about making our customers feel good, we are also conscious of the environment. This takes us to our vision, which is to restore Australia’s damaged ecosystem and preserve wild and marine lives. So, with every product purchased, 10% of its cost will be donated to Tree Projects in Australia and the Australian Marine Conservation Society. Our goal in the future is not only to bring back nature in Australia but all around the world.

THE FASHION INDUSTRY AND OUR PLANET

Did you know that the fashion industry is the second-largest polluter in the world just after the oil industry? This has caused a major increase in environmental damage as the industry grows. Fabrics that are made from synthetic fibres such as polyester, acrylic, nylon etc are made from fossil fuels (a non-renewable carbon), making production much more energy-intensive than with natural fibres and consuming 200 tons of freshwater per ton of dyed fabric.

To make fabric from conventional cotton is as bad as synthetic fibres.

The heavy use of chemicals in cotton farming is causing diseases and premature death among cotton farmers, along with massive freshwater and ocean water pollution and soil degradation.

This also applies to bamboo fabric.

Although, the bamboo fabric starts out good, as bamboo plants are a very sustainable crop that requires no fertiliser and self-regenerate from its own roots. However, creating the fabric (except linen) is just as bad as conventional cotton. This is because it is produced through a highly intensive chemical process.

WHY ORGANIC COTTON?

At Ease AU uses GOTS certified organic cotton because it is a much safer way for workers on cotton plantations, avoiding exposure to harmful chemicals. Certified organic cotton is a notably lower carbon footprint, using less fuel, water and energy to produce. It provides better working conditions for cotton farmers, support regenerative agriculture and increase your peace of mind!

This project is to raise $20k to $35k to fund the launch of At Ease AU. This cost includes but is not limited to the following list:
