CHARACTER FIRST is a creative experiment in story making where the creation of character precedes the narrative. Children experience a series of playful processes that activate their unique imagination to bring forth a character that wants to be expressed. The narrative is then derived from these characters.

With CHARACTER FIRST I seek to contribute a space where children can express themselves fully.

The proposed project will take the form of a 16 week journey inside a primary school, during lunch hour with ten children that are curious and willing to independently and collaboratively develop a story, and in so doing maybe a new approach to story making.
