WHAT IS BRING IT TO LIGHT?

A life program for students and young adults to develop the self-awareness and resiliency needed to combat the difficulties of the world and find their unique purpose within it.

PROBLEM

• There has been a significant increase in mental health disorders in children and young adults in the last decade (with depression, anxiety, and ADHD toping the charts).
• Suicide is now the leading cause of death in Australians aged 18-24 and the second leading cause of death for Americans ages 10-34.
• Substance abuse and addictive behaviors, especially among those with mental health disorders.
• Increased isolation and competition with social media.
• Misplaced anger and emotions, not knowing how to self-direct and self-regulate.
• Lack of motivation and hopelessness for the future, all contributing to a mental health epidemic among an entire generation.

You only have to look around or check the news to know the world has changed significantly in the past decade. While there have been positive advancements in technology, climate, and health, much has been overshadowed by negativity in the media, political polarization and wars, and both real and imagined fears about the future state of the globe.

Parents, teachers, and even our most effective leaders cannot solve all of these problems and truthfully, we were never meant to. Our roles are to ensure we are empowering those coming after us and give them the life skills to step into their unique purpose and contribute to the evolution of humanity in a way that makes sense to them.

SOLUTION

Bring it to Light is the missing piece in our current education system. The core curriculum is important but it’s not complete because history and math are only a sliver of our individual realities. In order to fully equip youth with the skills needed to thrive, we must teach deeper interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills and give them the daily emotional tools to build and understand their inner world

Our relationships are the most important aspects of our lives – no matter how intelligent we may be – and building a strong relationship with ourselves will lay the groundwork for a successful career and overall future full of hope, balance, and maturity.

There have been books and studies showing that the academics will take care of themselves when an individual is strong emotionally, mentally, and physically and feels supported.

Bring it to Light is a life program built into 5 succinct, practical, and engaging weeks to teach just that.

WHO AM I?

I’m a mother, marketer, creator, designer, brand and business expert, life coach, leadership mentor, and experienced yoga and meditation guide and who has packaged a lifetime of experience into a curriculum designed to empower the world, one heart at a time.

WHAT MAKES BRING IT TO LIGHT DIFFERENT THAN OTHER WELL-BEING OR MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS?

Bring it to Light addresses all 4 pillars of the self: mental, emotional, physical, and the deeper part of the self that we all know exists but don’t know exactly what to call it. For this program, we’ll call it simply ‘self.’

The program blends traditions and tips from leadership development, project management, meditation, creative and design thinking, science, psychology and melds them together to create an activated learning program that bolsters the entire wellbeing of anyone who finishes the program.

WHY WE NEED FUNDING

This round of funding will go towards video production, graphic creation, and marketing to create an interactive program that will take learners on a journey of self-discovery. The outline and program content are complete, but video, graphic, and animation is needed to make complex topics easy to understand and keep learners engaged.

Videos will be short, 1 – 4 minutes long and full of activities, mini-homework’s, and reflective exercises.

$2,000 for Graphic Creation
$1,500 for Marketing and Rollout

ROLLOUT PHASES

Phase 1:
Funding for pilot program creation and release.

Phase 2:
Collect feedback from the pilot program and make adjustments.

Phase 3:
Bring it to Light 2.0: increase production value creating an imaginative experience (think Disney in the classroom).

This current round of funding is to release the pilot program to a small group of schools, orgs, and individuals to collect feedback and make curriculum adjustments and improvements. Once traction is built and proven on a larger scale, we will seek a second round of funding to hire a team of creatives, develop a leadership board, and build the program into a training program for teachers and parents of all ages based on research and method-proven learning skills.
