As founders of A Dance Journey, we have a lifelong passion for dance and expressive movement. We didn’t just move through childhood and adolescence, we danced our way into adulthood. We have come together to share our experience as educators, mental health professionals, mums and dancers (once a dancer, always a dancer!), and are excited to bring mindful dancing movement sessions and programs to the wider community. With a shared understanding of the social, emotional, physical and spiritual benefits of dance and movement,  we want everyone to experience the magic of being present in their own body while moving in ways that feel good and connect the mind, body and soul.

We have big plans and endeavour to share the benefits of mindful dance movement with individuals and groups through recreational, educational, and corporate communities throughout Australia (and maybe even the world!!).

The lift we need

We have so much to offer and graphic design and web development are definitely NOT part of our skill set!

We want to:

 Engage a graphic designer to develop our branding, including our logo (estimated cost $1000)

Connect individuals, groups and communities with our programs and resources through a professional website (estimated cost $1000)

We are not experts in these fields and would love to honour ourselves and our community by investing time and energy into our passion for sharing mindful dance movement.

A Dance Journey Founders

Kerri-Anne Pratt

The creation of A Dance Journey has been the accumulation of my passions – dancing, mental health and education. I started dancing in my childhood and haven’t stopped! I am that person who dances down the aisle of the supermarket, to the horror of my children. I started my career as a mental health nurse, which lead to becoming a mindfulness based cognitive therapist with a focus on trauma. I then undertook my Masters in Teaching and have been working with students with trauma backgrounds.

Melinda Licciardi

A Dance Journey feels like the story of my life.  Dance. Always present. Has shaped the person I am today.  My most treasured memories are of time spent losing myself in movement and music and of sharing these moments with others.  As Billy Elliot said “it‘s like forgetting, losing who you are.  And at the same time something makes you whole”.   A Dance Journey makes perfect sense to me and I’m grateful to have been connected with Kerri so that we can share our love for dance through mindful dance movement.
