What am I raising funds for?

We are raising funds to bring ‘Shade.’ from concept to market, while simultaneously launching our social impact initiative. Specifically, we aim to:

1. Finalize product development and prototyping (currently developing a prototype with Australian company ‘Sun Up’ https://sunup.com.au/ )
2. Secure intellectual property rights
3. Launch a marketing campaign for pre-orders
4. Establish partnerships with manufacturers using sustainable materials
5. Create an e-commerce platform for direct sales
6. Initiate our first playground shading project “Playgrounds for Purpose” in a high-need area (currently working with Global Shade ( https://www.globalshade.com.au/ ) on a partnership)
7. Develop a scalable model for our “buy one, give one” corporate social impact program

About the Founder

Sarah Gradwell, Founder of ‘Shade.’

Sarah is an innovative entrepreneur with a passion for solving everyday problems and making a national impact. With a extensive experience in Business Commuications, Community Services and Event Management, Sarah has always been driven by the desire to create practical solutions that benefit both users and communities in need.

The idea for ‘Shade.’ was born during the COVID-19 pandemic when Sarah experienced firsthand the challenges of working outdoors. What started as a personal solution quickly evolved into a vision for a product that could revolutionise remote work while also addressing critical needs in underprivileged communities.

Inspired by a trip to Bali in 2023, where Sarah witnessed children unable to use playgrounds due to excessive heat and sun exposure, Sarah expanded the mission of ‘Shade.’ to include providing shades to uncovered play areas for children in remote and underserved areas across Australia.

Sarah’s unique blend of social work and deep commitment to social responsibility drives the dual mission of ‘Shade.’ – to enhance the work-from-anywhere lifestyle while making a tangible difference in children’s lives.
