My Lantern

My Lantern will guide your steps everyday and ultimately your path by regularly reminding you of God’s word.

I began this journey because I would find that I would get distracted in my everyday busy life by worldly ways and desires which would leave me drained and exhausted.

I am Prue, a wife to Chris, a mum to Sophie and Olivia, a daughter and a nurse.  My days can fill me with anxiety and fatigue. I have multiple sclerosis and so the fatigue can be extreme. I am blessed to have the life I do but the world was draining me. I started to write notes to remind myself to pray or note of a scripture about strength or rest. I would leave a note to remember to give my troubles to God and trust him to deal with it. I would feel refreshed and renewed. I would have instant calm and peace. God would help me and the troubles would be solved or at least not so big and without me doing anything except focusing solely on his word.

This started my inspiration for an app to replace the sticky notes. I always have my phone on me and it can send reminders. The app would allow you to choose individual scripture to be sent to you or you could choose a topic for example grief, hope, anxiety, finances, eating well and more. You can set how often you would like to receive notifications or reminders.

You will be able to receive reminders to pray and pray for others. There will be a section for prayers answered so you can record them and then have them sent to you as reminders.

You can set reminders to do acts of kindness. There will be an area to browse for inspiration of acts of kindness. You will be able to send scripture to a friend. The app will also have links to bible scriptures, daily devotionals and meditations for you to link to.

I want it to be accessible and only cost the same as a cup of coffee per month. I would like to have the option for someone to be able to gift it to someone who can’t afford it, with a section to reach out if you want it gifted.

To help cover costs there will be a section for people to advertise Christian music, books, jewellery and other merchandise.

I would like to raise funds to research if you and others would find this app helpful too. Then I would like to build a prototype and then ultimately the My Lantern app that you can use to focus on God’s word.
