Overview
The New England Times is a new hyper-local news outlet based in Armidale in the New England region of New South Wales, Australia, run by strong women who all live with chronic illness.
It was established as a social good organisation with profits being directed to a new charity, New England Vital, to provide subsidised access to essential services like childcare and health care which our small communities are desperately in need of and either don’t have, or don’t have enough of.
A very important part of our mission is platforming strong women through our opinion site, The Net. This includes not only publishing what women write and encouraging discussion of issues women care about, but also helping to teach women how to write opinion pieces and make their voices heard.
We would like to be able to make sure this happens, and are asking for your help to make it happen. Your contribution will help us commission and edit great writing from great women, provide training, and help us share those voices with the world.

Stretch Goals
A dedicated women's editor- $25000.00
Getting things started is one thing, but keeping them going is another.
The business plan doesn’t allow for a dedicated editor to keep finding great women and helping them find their voice for at least 3 years.
If we reach this stretch goal, we can do it now, and start making a difference in forcefully putting women’s voices into the debate. A dedicated editor will be able to devote all their time to networking with women, helping them write their pieces, and helping to promote them. We can also then assist other media outlets in putting women’s voices into the mix by having a great database of women with something to say.
