First Colours was imagined in 2019 by Emily Savage, who saw the trend for sustainable fashion was growing, and in doing so it was excluding people who did not fit the traditional fashion mould. 

Our aim is to create beautiful, original pieces made from recycled materials that can be accessed by people regardless of class, size, socioeconomic status or disability.

After 12 months of research and development Emily invited Nadeen Lawand to join First Colours as Co-Founder.

We believe that no one should be excluded from the conversation about sustainable fashion. While it would be impossible for us to solve all the issues facing the fashion industry, First Colours hopes to contribute to the conversation in a meaningful way and create pieces that are accessible for people from all backgrounds while not causing damage to the earth.

Having tested our business on a small scale with dropshipping, we are looking to raise $2000 to help us partner with a manufacturer who will be able to produce our original pieces so that our vision can become a reality. We already have a local pattern and sample maker, who have created our beautiful first samples which we have been able to shoot, but we want to make these pieces available for purchase.
