This project will raise funds to secure larger and more energy-efficient stills to scale current production and meet future demand.

For the last few years, Australian consumers have become increasingly sober-curious and mindful about the products they drink, growing in line with the focus on health and fitness, and further strengthening since the pandemic.

Consumers are now more interested in not only zero-alcohol drinks but also drinks that are made of natural and organic ingredients and that are made by socially and environmentally-conscious companies.

Catie Fry actually recognised this back in 2017.

One of a small number of Australian female distillers, Catie has been in the distilling industry for over 5 years and co-founded Capricorn Distilling Co., a successful rum and gin distillery based in central QLD.

After seeing the need for a more inclusive range of spirits in 2017, Catie bought her own small still. She set it up in her kitchen and began experimenting into the wee hours of the night while her two small children slept.

For 3 years, Catie struggled to find both the time and the confidence to bring Clovendoe onto the market.

It was only on the morning of International Women’s Day in March 2020 that Catie woke with a clear mission to be a distilling company that promoted and encouraged an inclusive and ‘mindful drinking’ movement.

Catie asked her long time friend Sarah if she would like to join her on the journey. Six months later, Catie and Sarah launched Clovendoe Distilling Co. as the country’s first all-female founded and operated distilling company, dedicated to creating natural, premium and sophisticated alternatives to alcohol.

We are looking to replace our existing small batch stills with larger and more energy-efficient stills, designed to decrease energy consumption and heat-up time.

Our aim is to reduce our power consumption by 50% for the same amount of finished product which means we will be making steps towards our goal of lowering our carbon footprint.

The upgrade of our stills will also produce more product from each batch, helping us to not only serve more mindful drinkers but to find more time for R & D to grow our range .
